Honeycomb Launches Official Licensing Program

Honeycomb Aeronautical has announced a new licensing initiative designed to expand its ecosystem of compatible flight sim accessories. The program will see the company license the Honeycomb Aeronautical name to select premium partners, allowing them to create complementary hardware that integrates seamlessly with Honeycomb’s established flight controls. The goal is to grow the accessory lineup while keeping tight control over quality, precision, durability, and performance, so sim pilots can build cohesive, cockpit-style setups around the brand.
At the core of the initiative is a clear standards-based approach: every licensed product must meet Honeycomb’s existing design and performance benchmarks. Rather than trying to manufacture every accessory in-house, Honeycomb is positioning itself as the hub of a broader ecosystem, steering third-party development while protecting its reputation for professional-grade gear.
First Licensed Partner: CockpitCrafters’ UnderDesk Mount
The first company to sign on is CockpitCrafters, a boutique manufacturer focused on high-quality flight sim accessories. Their debut Honeycomb-licensed product, the UnderDesk Mount, is already available at a price point of $66. Purpose-built for the Alpha Flight Controls and Bravo Throttle Quadrant, the mount lets users secure their hardware directly under a desk, creating a more realistic and space-efficient cockpit layout without resorting to full rigs or permanent fixtures.
Machined from a solid block of aluminum, the UnderDesk Mount is designed for stability under load and during aggressive control inputs. Key design details include custom-cut slots that match Honeycomb’s original clamps, anti-slip pads to protect surfaces, and a form-fit stabilizer that eliminates wobble and torsion. The result is a clean, minimal solution for sim pilots who want a more permanent-feeling setup while still using a standard desk.
What the Licensing Move Means for Home Cockpits
For the wider flight sim community, Honeycomb’s licensing initiative signals a deliberate push toward a richer, officially supported ecosystem. By partnering with specialists like CockpitCrafters, Honeycomb can broaden accessory options—mounts, brackets, and other cockpit components—without compromising on build quality or fitment. Each licensed product is intended to feel like a native part of the Honeycomb lineup rather than an aftermarket compromise.
With the UnderDesk Mount setting the tone, sim pilots can reasonably expect more third-party hardware that is both Honeycomb-approved and tightly integrated with existing yokes and throttle quadrants. For anyone building or refining a home cockpit, this move points to a future with more choice, better ergonomics, and fewer DIY workarounds to make serious hardware work in limited spaces.
